THEME

“Touch grass” is more than a meme. It’s the longing to reconnect — with sensation, with reality, with what matters. Even inside the code.”

Decentraland invites visual artists, curators and galleries to interpret this year’s theme — TOUCH GRASS — for Decentraland Art Week 2025, September 24 - 28.

Design a new work, exhibition or installation to respond to a fundamental human craving: to feel something real in an increasingly artificial world. Think speculative ecosystems, tactile illusions, biopunk dreamscapes, glitched rituals of connection, and much more.

Whether nostalgic, surreal, or confrontational, your concept should ask:

  • What does it mean to “touch grass” when the grass is made of code?

  • Can virtual art make us feel more human?

  • How do we design presence — not just spectacle — in digital spaces?
